A social care worker can assess your needs and arrange services on your behalf. They can also suggest ways to reduce or delay your need for care.

You may be eligible for care and support if:
  • Your needs are due to a physical or mental impairment or illness
  • The impairment or illness affects your ability to do two or more functions
  • Your wellbeing is significantly affected because you can't do these things

Depending on your financial situation, you may be asked to pay all or part of the cost of your care.

You can also arrange services yourself by finding a home care provider. All home care providers are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and you can view their inspection reports on the CQC website.
