Warrington Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2022-2025: Statutory Consultation

Warrington Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) are in the process of developing a new Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA). This is a statutory responsibility as set out under the NHS (Pharmaceutical Services and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2013.   A draft of the Warrington PNA for 2022-2025 has now been produced and, as part of the development process, we would like to invite your feedback on this draft. The Regulations require that the Health and Wellbeing Board undertakes a formal consultation on the document with the aim of gathering constructive feedback from a range of stakeholders, members of the public and interested bodies

A PNA is a document which records the assessment of the need for pharmaceutical services within a specific area.  As such, it sets out a statement of the pharmaceutical services which are currently provided, together with when and where these are available to a given population. In assessing need for services the document also considers current and future demographic and health intelligence.  The Regulations require NHS England to use the PNA to consider applications to open a new pharmacy, move an existing pharmacy or to commission additional services from pharmacy. The PNA can also be used by patients, current service providers, future service providers and commissioners.

We would like to invite you to participate in the formal consultation on the draft PNA, the consultation period will run from 9am Monday 4^th April to 5pm Friday 10^th June 2022.   The draft PNA along with the consultation response questionnaire can be found on our website via the following link https://www.warrington.gov.uk/PNA

All feedback received by 5pm on Friday 10^th June 2022 will be collated and presented to the PNA Steering Group for consideration on behalf of the HWB.  An updated PNA, including details of the consultation process and responses, will be presented to the HWB in July 2022.   The final PNA will be published by 1^st October 2022.
