A website shaped by local groups and local people
The Living Well Warrington website, which has been launched to complement the physical Living Well Hub building on Horsemarket Street in the town centre, has seen community and voluntary groups, NHS services and the council join forces, to build an online platform with local people in mind.
And, what’s more, Warrington residents have helped to shape the design of the website, with local photographs being used across the site.
The three winners of a recent local photography competition were awarded their prizes by the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Wendy Johnson, at a recent event at the Living Well Hub. The winning photographs will feature prominently across the Living Well Warrington website. The winners were:
- 1st prize Rebecca Parker "The boy with the ball"
- 2nd prize Tanya Wightman "Canal walking"
- 3rd prize Pamela Robinson "Sunflowers"
“This new website is a gamechanger for local people. The Living Well Hub on Horsemarket Street has welcomed thousands of people since opening its doors last year. We now effectively have a digital version of the Living Well Hub, but with many more services and activities, available at your fingertips. I am grateful for the hard work of the community organisations, groups, local NHS and council services, who have worked together to create a single place of really important information that will help everyone to support their health and wellbeing.”
Stephen Bennett, Head of Strategy and Partnerships at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“There are a huge number of amazing organisations in Warrington offering a wide range of services and opportunities for residents to take positive steps towards improving their own health and wellbeing.
“These organisations range from small, grassroots community groups to large public sector providers. The Living Well Warrington digital platform brings all of these organisations together in one place for the first time to help people find out what is out there, and most importantly, how they can access it.
“The system has been designed and developed by a large number of partner organisations and will grow and evolve over time, as the needs and requirements of residents change.”
