Shielding Does not mean Shielded

Clare Organising Collections from Freemasons to drop off at the food bank

Healthwatch Warrington are an independent organisation set up to champion the views of patients and social care service users in Warrington, with the goal of making services better and improving health and well being. During the COVID-19 Lockdown our staff have been providing their time to help the local community in any way they can.

Our Outreach Lead Clare Screeton has been doing her bit to help the community by collecting donations for the local food bank. Clare is currently shielding throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic after recovering from Leukaemia in 2018.

(Shielding is the word used to describe how to protect those at highest risk of severe illness if they catch coronavirus.)

“In these difficult times we want to help out with the community- even though I am shielding it doesn’t mean that I am shielded- I am doing what I can with the help of my husband’s support. We are organising collection of donations  from Warrington Freemasons to take to the foodbank.”  – Clare Screeton

The food bank is currently in need of:

toiletries,

shampoo,

conditioners,

shower gel,

hand soap,

shaving foam,

toothpaste,

disposable razors

washing powder.

Lydia Thompson HWW manager also added “We want to remind the local community that Healthwatch Warrington are also still providing signposting services and collecting feedback on your health & wellbeing during this time. We are also keeping our website up to date on information related to COVID-19 and the community. We are currently running a survey to find out the issues residents are facing during these unprecedented times.”   You can find out more information on our website:
